The 2020
growing season

The 2020 vintage was marked by an exceptionally early vegetative cycle, with budburst occurring more than two weeks ahead of the long-term average.

Following a wet winter, spring and summer were characterized by very dry and hot conditions, leading to significantly early ripening. Harvest began as early as mid-August—an all-time record in Champagne—with grapes in excellent sanitary condition. Despite sometimes lighter bunches due to drought stress, the berries showed fine sugar concentration and well-balanced acidity. The 2020 harvest, among the most outstanding of the decade, stands out as a truly exceptional year.
